DU Justice

Du Justice is a non-profit organisation established to help those accused of criminal offences in Dubai receive a fair trial in line with international standards and to protect their most basic human rights.

Du Justice seeks to ensure all accused in Dubai have the basic human rights of access to food and medicine, of receiving a fair trial, are legally represented, have access to a qualified translator throughout proceedings and the funds to pay for court fees.

Du Justice aims to highlight and prevent cases of torture, abuse, sexual abuse, mistreatment, corruption and bribery of suspects and prisoners.

Du Justice will work with existing leading human rights charities such as Human Rights Watch and Prisoners Aboard together with the Dubai authorities including the Dubai Police, Dubai Public Prosecution, Dubai Courts and DIFC Courts to highlight and stamp out injustice and breaches of human rights in Dubai.

Co-founded by David Haigh, the former Managing Director of Leeds United Football Club. David was the victim of human trafficking and suffered a 18-month arbitrary detention, unfair criminal and civil trials, torture, beatings, sexual abuse, denial of food and medicine. Falsely accused and convicted of breach of trust and charged with Twitter Cyber-slander, then offered a pardon, then acquitted, David was blackmailed, refused access to lawyers and translators by both the DIFC Court and the Dubai Court and prevented from access to his own money to buy food and pay for medical treatment.

Du Justice offers compassion and understanding without judgment.
